David Froggatt was the son of Mr. Froggatt, of 9, Riddings Street, Derby. He had served for seven years in India, before returning home for a few days in December 1914, and then went out to France at Christmas. He was wounded in March, and returned home, before going back to the front after recovery in June. After his death, his Major wrote: 'I cannot tell you how grieved I am to lose him. He has always done so well, and was such a splendid boy altogether.'
